Confirmation
On Tuesday 11th November 2008 14 candidates from All Saints Church, Glazebury were confirmed at the cathedral in Liverpool by The Rt. Revd David Jennings , Bishop of Warrington. All Saints Church Glazebury was one of 6 parishes who attended the confirmation in the cathedral on this day. It was a very special service for the 11 young people and the 3 adults from our parish who had been preparing for confirmation for the last 10 weeks.
At Confirmation you say for yourself promises that were made for you at baptism by your parents or godparents. You became a member of God’s church in baptism and now you are discovering more about your faith.
Children who are in year 6 of Junior School are invited to consider Confirmation, as are older children and adults. In Confirmation classes which begin in September we will think about what it means to be called by name, what it means to be a witness for Christ and how to explore your faith through questions and challenges.
Please contact the curate in charge Revd Pat Gray if you would like to consider Confirmation in 2009 - ring Pat on 01942 603161
In 2009 the Confirmation Service will be at 11a.m in All Saints Church, Glazebury on Sunday 1st November –All Saints Day. This is one of our days of great celebration, being All Saints Church. The Confirming bishop will be Bishop Frank Sargeant, assistant bishop in our Diocese.
